Lake Recreation at Hot Springs Village
Hot Springs Village is home to 7 recreational lakes ranging in size from 11 to 950 acres with a wide range of swimming, fishing, water sports and covered picnic areas.
Lake Balboa - Hot Springs Village's largest lake, covering 950 acres, that offers a wide variety of amenities with a covered picnic pavilion, swimming beach, marina and water skiing. Lake Balboa is a great fishing lake with bass, catfish, crappie and bream.
Lake DeSoto - One of Hot Springs Village's oldest lakes that has a marina with a wide variety of boats for rent. Lake DeSoto is close to the front gate and is a favorite fishing and boating lake for both residents and visitors. You will find plenty of catfish, sunfish, gill, crappie and bass in Lake DeSoto.
Lake Cortez - With a beach and picnic pavilion, Lake Cortez is a perfect setting for a family outing. Bring your boat and enjoy fishing, swimming and water skiing. Enjoy bringing home your catch of catfish, bass, crappie, gill and sunfish.
Lake Coronado - This lake is popular for water sports, swimming and fishing. The lake is well stocked with catfish, bass, crappie, gill and sunfish.
Lake Isabella, Lake Pineda, Lake Segovia - Enjoy Hot Springs Village's smaller scenic lakes which offer swimming and fishing. These lakes have plenty of bass, catfish, crappie, sunfish and gill.
Natatorium and Fitness Center
Feel a need to keep in shape while on your vacation? Hot Springs Village has the answer for your full workout. Lift weights, swim in the 25 meter indoor pool or take on one of the 5 different cardio machines. A workout is not complete without some time in the sauna or whirlpool.
Tennis Center
The Coronado Tennis Center offers a pro shop and 13 pro-surfaced (10 clay and three hard courts) and lighted tennis courts. Coaching from a resident tennis pro is available for either group or private lessons. Additional courts are available at the DeSoto games area.
DeSoto Games Area
The DeSoto Games area at Hot Springs Village has a pool for everyone.
No summer vacation is complete without a swimming pool. The DeSoto Games area at Hot Springs Village has a pool for everyone. There is an Olympic size pool for swimming, an 11-foot dive tank with two diving boards, and wading pool for the youngsters. Enjoy all of the action from the sun deck or pull up a lounge chair and table with an umbrella.
No games area would be complete without other recreation activities and DeSoto is no exception. Take in a game of basketball, enjoy miniature golf or play tennis. The DeSoto Games Area also has a new 3,000 square foot indoor games building that features ping pong, pool, air hockey, foosball, computer games, movies and board games.
Hot Springs Village Trails
Hot Springs Village is unique in that several thousand properties are spread over 26,000 acres; it is a scenic and picturesque setting of woods, lakes and mountains. This gives the 20 miles of trails a similar blend of settings that encompass the natural beauty of Hot Springs Village. Whether you bike, jog or simply want to take in all that Mother Nature has to offer, there is a trail for you in Hot Springs Village. Ask for the Trail Guide that details the 15 trails which range from a few hundred yards to over 4 miles in distance.
Indoor Recreation
Is it too hot for outdoor recreation? Hot Springs Village has an amazing array of amenities that will keep you cool. Enjoy an arts and crafts show or dance at the Coronado Community Center or take in a performing arts show at the Ponce de Leon Center. If some quiet reading is your thing, the 3600 square foot Coronado Library will keep you busy with plenty of books, audiotapes and a Children's section.
Hot Springs Village Area
Outside the confines of Hot Springs Village is a unique array of activities. North America's only active Crystal Mining is a few minutes away from the front gate. Dig to your heart's content and take home everything that you find - for friends and family.
Near the Front Gate are two shopping areas with grocery and hardware stores, restaurants, pharmacy, antique shops, craft shops and medical facilities.
Hot Springs Village is located only 14 miles from Hot Springs where you can find an amazing variety of entertainment, shopping, and sight seeing. Hot Springs also hosts major attractions each year including the Summer Arts Festival, International Documentary Film Festival, Miss Arkansas Pageant, Oktoberfest, and more.
Located in a valley surrounded by the Ouachita Mountains and the great Diamond Lakes of Ouachita, Hamilton and Catherine, Hot Springs National Park has thrived as a tourist destination for the past 100 years. Spend the day relaxing in the historic baths of Hot Springs National Park or go shopping on Central Avenue. Stop in one of the many unique shops or fine art galleries. Hot Springs is home to Oaklawn Jockey Club, America's dominant thoroughbred horse racing facility, featuring 60-plus days of thrilling thoroughbred racing from late January through April each year.
