Description

Timeless is located right in the historic center of La Morra, one of the most important villages in the Langhe area where you can find the most precious Barolo vineyard. Suggestive rooms, free wi-fi and a small garden where enjoy a nice aperitive. Breakfast is self-service in a private room.

La Morra is a small medieval village perched on the top of a sunny hill, encircled by narrow and tortuous roads, and embellished with a myriad of small villages and solitary farm houses, peeping out from among the vineyards. From up here, one enjoys a stupendous 360 degree view of the valleys and surrounding villages to the north, like Roddi, Verduno and Cherasco, while to the south one may admire, from the tranquil belvedere in the village’s main square, Grinzane and its castle, Castiglione Falletto and the Barolo hills: steep hillside slopes covered with vineyards, fruit orchards, valley floors cultivated with hazelnuts groves and forests. One need only attentively observe these landscapes to grasp the deep spirit of our hills, the still profoundly agricultural vocation of our land.

Thanks to its privileged location on the road between Alba and the Barolo hills, and just a few kilometers from deepest Langa, La Morra can become the base camp for your stay in Langa. A good point of departure would be to visit some of the numerous local wineries, both of the La Morra producers and of our Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, and Monforte neighbors, the nerve centers of the production of Barolo DOCG wine.

If you are especially interested in wine production, a good idea might be to pair visits to wineries with a long walk: on the winemaking theme, La Morra offers the trails “Barolo Crus”, 11.5 Km long and taking around 3 hours, and “Great Vineyards”, 8 km, taking around 2 hours.

Other trails of similar length are the Castagni-Rivalta Trail, which in around two hours will lead you 7.6 km among orchards and cultivated fields, and the Great Horizons Trail, around 7 km and taking two hours, especially recommended for those who want to enjoy splendid views of the Alps and its hills.

For those seeking out excursions of shorter duration, we suggest the Lake Trail, a short, 2.5 km walk (around 50 minutes) through an equipped picnic area, and the Trail of the Madonna di Loreto, perfect for admiring the Valle Tanaro landscapes.

In addition to the points of interest in the area around the village that you will come upon while exploring the above suggested trails, in La Morra itself you can visit the late-seventeenth century parish church, an impressive Baroque structure built according to a design by Michelangelo Garove, inside of which you can admire a high altarpiece, painted by Aliberti in 1715.

On the same piazza where one finds the belvedere is the Church of the Confraternity of San Rocco. Completed in 1749, the structure is decorated with a splendid dome frescoed by Pietro Paolo Operti.

On via XX Settembre is a palazzo built in the 17th century by the Falletti family, marquises of Barolo, and now the property of the Cordero di Montezemolo family.

It is still possible to admire the ruins of the city’s historic castle, including some sections of the imposing encircling wall, restored in the 19th century.

For those who want to go beyond a simple walk or bicycle trip, near La Morra one can also get involved in activities like tennis, jet kune do, and horseback riding.
