Why it is Famous : The author Daphne du Maurier lived nearby and many of her books were drawn from the surrounding area such as Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor and the House on the Strand. There is an annual Daphne du Maurier Festival with many famous participants. The Eden Project comprising several large domes with temperate climates to house exotic plants. The cottage is surrounded by a World Heritage Site (Mining).
