The Coast The coastal stretch of 180 km between Pesaro and San Benedetto del Tronto offers long sand and gravel beaches as well as rocky cliffs (Riviera del Conero near Ancona). Of particular interest in the Grottammare area is the �Riviera delle Palme� with thousands of palm trees. The Cities Ancona, capital and largest harbor with ferry connections throughout the Adriatic Sea. S. Benedetto del Tronto, largest fishing harbour. Facts About Destination : La Casa di Petra is situated outside of Ripatransone at 280 mtrs. above sealevel surrounded with vineyards. The distance to adratic sea and the beaches of Cupra Marittima and Grottammare is of about 17 km.
Area Information : The Landscape In the west Le Marche is mountainous with the highest peak Mt. Vettore (2475m) in the Monti Sibillini. Two national parks and nature reserves, four regional parks comprise about 10% of the entire region and are protected areas. Olives, fruit, and various grains grow well here and the southern part is known for its viticulture.

How to reach : From the North, via A14 (E55) to Pedaso at km 288; on the SS16 to Cupra Marittima and on the SP91 (Valmenocchia Exit) in the direction to Carassai and then on the SP75 direction Ripatransone. From the direction Rome via the A24 to the A14; past San Benedetto del Tronto to the Grottammare Exit at km 301; exit at Valtesino (SP92) in the direction of Ripatransone (2nd exit at km 11), and then on the SP75 in the direction of Carassai. By the train: to San Benedetto del Tronto / Grottammare. Airports for commercial and budget flights are Ancona Falconara (<85km) and Pescara dâAbruzzo (<80km).
