Why it is Famous : We are located in the small town of Akumal directly on the Caribbean Ocean in the heart of the beautiful Mexican Riviera Maya. Only 60 miles south of Cancun airport, the town is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the party towns of Cancun and Playa del Carmen. In fact, it is the only place that retains the old laid-back, relaxed atmosphere that existed before the resorts took over much of the coast.
Area Information : With lots to do in this family-friendly jewel, you can relax on the beaches, enjoy the many restaurants and boutiques, go to any of the nearby attractions including Mayan ruins, or, you can just kick back in your private complex and relax.
How to reach : Easy drive or van service: 60 miles South of the Cancun airport on a four lane highway straight from the airport to the town.

Excellent accommodations with direct access to Yalku Lagoon. Generous sized rooms, clean, secure, well maintained property and situated in beautiful Akumal. House staff was excellent (strongly recommend ordering dinner from the staff). Would absolutely stay here again.

I have to say that this is the perfect Yucatan vacation destination. Whether it was our day trips to Tulum and Xcaret or just the days spent lazing by the lagoon with a good book, the houses provided everything we could\'ve wanted. We had a big family group this last time, and the house was the perfect mix of large communal areas where we could all be together and relaxing private areas where you might as well have been the only person on the planet. I\'m a beach person, my brother is a snorkeling fiend, and mom is only happy when she\'s in the pool, so the having all of these available to us made this a harmonious trip. The caretakers are all wonderful, the decor is beautiful, and while you\'re sheltered away from the touristy craziness of Cancun, you\'re never too far from Playa Del Carmen (or the Super Chomak at the end of town for necessities). If you go, you have to try karaoke night at La Buena Vida. (Though you may want to cut yourself off after your eighth Sol and second rendition of \"Dancing Queen\" ... trust me.) Also, I will never forget eating at La Lunita with hundreds of hermit crabs migrating towards the sea at my feet. Loved our stay and will be returning with friends in 2011!

We loved Casa Delfin- staying right on Yakul Lagoon was fabulous- an early morning snorkle with the lagoon to yourself was one on those \"monents\"- just beautiful! The house is very pretty and comfortable and just the right distance from Akumal- sitting on the rooftop deck at night was the perfect way to end every great day- would stay at Casa Delfin again!

We had an AMAZING stay at Casa Delfin. The house is gorgeous, the furnishings great, and very authentic Mexican. The location could not be better. The lagoon is absolutely amazing for a morning snorkel, afternoon dip, or evening cool-down. We spent hours sitting on the balcony overlooking the lagoon playing cards and sipping margaritas. The pool on the roof was perfect for an afternoon dip. The town is great, and the local restaurants were perfect for our group. We just loved the Buena Vida. We were there two years ago and are still talking about how much we loved it! And the caretakers were awesome. They took great care of the house, and were very helpful! I can\'t wait until my next visit!!
