Area Information : A Base for Area Activities: adrenaline inducing challenges or more sedate forms of recreation, our area has it all; Pristine Mountains with lakes, streams and rushing rivers for Kayaking, Fishing or Rafting ; Nordic skiing or Snowmobiling in the winter are all are within easy reach from Cascade and The Retreat; Trails for Backpacking, Hiking, Running, Riding, Cycling and/or Mountain biking; Trails over 2600 miles in the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness or more than 208 miles in Idaho in the Hells Canyon Wilderness ; Cascade Lake just six miles north has a Scenic Loop drive around the 17 mile long by about 4 mile wide lake which has 100 miles of shoreline for water activities; Water Skiing, Windsurfing, Sailing, Fishing, Lake Tours, and Ice Fishing in the winter are found at Cascade, Payette and Warm Lakes; Snow Tubing and Sledding, Curling, Ice Skating and Sleigh Rides are also popular winter activities; Anderson Creek Trail head is the beginning of miles of snowmobiling on the West Mountains; Scenic Drives are abundant and provide 'heart-stopping' beauty with abundant wildflowers as well as mushrooms and berry picking;
