Nested in the heart the winemaking region of Chianti Classico, Villa Catignano is a magnificent 17th century building. The peaceful, relaxed environment combined with the proximity to all the most popular cities and towns (Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, and Arezzo) make it a truly ideal Tuscan destination.

Villa Catignano is situated at only 8 kms from Siena, was built at the end of XVII century by the ancestor of the currents proprietors, Quinto Settano, pseudonym of Monsignor Lodovico Sergardi, a writer and a lover of the arts.

The small borough already existed in 1500 with the name of "Clatinianum" as a property of Sergardi family. The building, settled in the beautiful green tuscan countryside is framed by the hystorical Italian Garden, decorated with statues representing the four season, the so called Bosco Inglese (english wood) and the medieval towers of Siena in the distance and welcomes guests who appreciate historical sites and suggestive atmospheres.

Villa Catignano peaceful park features a soft green lawn and lemon, cypress and holm oak trees. The surrounding rolling hills of Chianti and the skyline of Siena provide the magnificent backdrop for Villa Catignano attractive swimming pool, reserved for our guests.

Villa Catignano has in total 15 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms and it can be  divided into independent and large apartments with own kitchen and living room, and the most suggestive ones can be reached walking through the large entrance hall dominated by the coat of arms of the Sergardi family and their motto "Expertus fidelem".

Beautiful fireplaces, living rooms with hardwood flooring, frescoed walls, precious prints and beautifully crafted furniture enhance the charm of Villa Catignano, and make even more precious the seven  vacation apartments, some of which face the Italian style garden, while some others overlook the big yard, and the surrounding Tuscan countryside.

La Maestà Apartment
Elegantly decorated with frescoes dating back to 17th century, the apartment La Maestà has a wonderful view over the Italian garden, and Siena in the distance. The apt includes a double bedroom and two living rooms (one with kitchen), a bathroom with tub and handheld showerhead.

Quinto Settano Apartment
This apartment has a double bedroom, a twin bedroom which can become a double bedroom and two en suite bathrooms with shower. There is a large living room beautifully decorated, and a kitchen with dish washer (separated from the living room). Fantastic view on the Italian garden and on Siena in the distance.
 
Baronessa Apartment
Beautifully decorated with frescoes, this apartment includes a double bedroom, a twin bedroom which can become a double bedroom and with en suite bathrooms one with tub and handheld showerhead, one with shower. There is a living room and kitchen (separated from the livingroom). The apartment has beautiful views. Located on the first floor of the main villa.

Ragazzi Apartment
First floor. Beautifully decorated with frescoes, this apartment includes a double bedroom, twin bedroom (which can become double), two bathrooms with shower (one of which is en-suite). There is a large living room and dining room with kitchen (separated from the living room. The apartment has beautiful views over the Italian garden.

Dia
Beautifully decorated with frescoes, this apartment has two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms one with tub and handheld showerhead, one with shower and one triple-bedded room with three single beds. There is a large living room decorated with frecoes and a separate spacious kitchen with fire place for BBQ and oven. The apartment has nice views.

Pozzo Apartment
First floor. Featuring rustic styling, this three-room apartment includes a double bedroom, a twin bedroom which can become double, two en suite bathrooms with shower, and a living room (kitchen corner and fire place).

Finestrina Apartment
First floor. Featuring rustic styling, this three-room apartment includes one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, a living room with kitchen corner (oven), and bathroom shower. Beautiful view.

Mansardina Studio Apartment
Located on the first floor of the main villa, Mansardina is a one room-studio apartment rustic style, with double bedroom (four posted bed), cooking area, and a bathroom with shower. This apartment perfectly fits 2 people wishing for intimacy, but without missing the pleasure of being in an exclusive, Tuscan manor.

An ideal spot to host any type of event from 40 to 90 people, from family reunion to weddings or  product launches, from meetings to fashion photo shoots, or a private and celebratory escape for a few, you will be assured of the sweet serenity of privacy and security.

Available - on request - the living rooms of the Villa, characterised by splendid frescoes, can be used for the same purposes. From the halls it is possible to reach a large terrace, the beautiful courtyard of the Villa; there, guests can also enjoy the wide external area, which includes the beautiful, charming Giardino all'Italiana, open during winter time as well. For wedding dinners and parties, we will also be happy to suggest possible food catering solutions to anyone interested.
