"SUNSET COTTAGE" This stunning property is located on the West End of Cayman Brac. Island population 1,900. Weekly island tourist average about 200. The north side is better 300 days of the year, it's on the LEEWARD SIDE (less wind and waves). The West end gets the SUNSETS. This property is on the north side, west end. Leeward side and Sunsets.
The west end is where everything is located - your central but at the end of the island so your way out of the way.

Listen to the never-ending rhythm of the gentle rolling waves and feel the cooling breezes as you enjoy the warm sunshine and stunning sunsets any time of the year. There is plenty of privacy and you'll enjoy the small yellow songbirds and the island's native brown booby and frigate birds that seem to enjoy the lush, tropical surroundings. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. The low temperature of the water in mid winter is 78F so you can swim all year long. We call Cayman Brac 'detox from life'. The most difficult part of your vacation will be packing your sandals and leaving this absolute tropical paradise and the fine comfortable accommodations of the house.
This oceanfront beach property overlooks the Caribbean and Little Cayman and has access to some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world.
Swimmers, snorkelers, and scuba divers can take advantage of the outside shower and freshwater rise tank.
If there are any issues I will be there to help you. I only live five minutes away. If you have any special requests -- be it for snorkeling gear, horse shoes, bicycles, movies -- I can usually help you out.
Stores are closed on Sunday. If your arrival is after 6:30 pm on Saturday or on Sunday we'll do your grocery shopping for you - just send us a list, there is no charge for our time.
For your convenience I have also arranged a special deal with a local car rental agency for those who might desire it. For those who will be renting for seven days you will get your seventh day free. Additionally, if you pay with traveler’s checks or cash you will receive a 5% discount.
Bicycles for pleasure use (not as primary transportation) and fishing poles come with the property rental. You can also use the kayaks, snorkeling gear ($15/week) and more
There are public tennis and basketball courts, a full spa, and a full fitness room just minutes away. Inexpensive maid service is also available.
Our pleasant Property Caretaker is now available during your stay to prepare daily meals (FRESH SEAFOOD), clean, pick up groceries and necessities, provide day care, tend your bar and serve your guests, and many other service driven requests. Leave the cooking and cleaning to us!
So if mom wants a vacation and does't want to deal with cooking and cleaning or doing a load of laundry then we have a very affordable solution. Secluded Sunsets is the only guest house on the island providing services in this manner. We pride ourselves in being a cut above any other guest house and we strive daily to insure your vacation is the best one you'll ever have. We were very happy staying here at Sunset cottage. The location is breathtaking with bright blue seas white coral beach and palm trees. Great sunsets of course, facing west, and the best snorkeling we found on the island. Henry provided top quality snorkeling gear. We especially appreciated the dive booties for shore entries. He thought of everything guests could need in the cottage. Loved the screen porch, the hammocks under the sunshades, He and Sasha were very accommodating, always easy to contact, or checking with us to make sure all was well. Cayman Brac is unusual, like the rest of the Caribbean probably was 50 years ago. We saw more chickens than tourists. This is a special piece of paradise. If you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful unspoiled part of the Caribbean this would be it. Thanks Henry for creating such a perfect vacation place.

We had a fantastic time on Cayman Brac, and Sunset Cottage was a great home base. Henry and Sasha took great care of us and were available whenever we needed anything (which was not a lot since everything was so well prepared). The cottage is great and well stocked. The cottage is in the perfect location (the best shore snorkeling on the island is right in front of the cottage), Henry is super fantastic (great communicator, very friendly), and the cottage is very comfortable (especially the beds -- very important!) and well equipped. You won't be disappointed if you book this property -- we highly, highly recommend it!

Sunset cottage is comfortable, clean, nicely furnished, and well-equipped. The two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are on opposite sides of the great room, which is especially nice for privacy. The large screened porch provides a shady place to watch the ocean. We also appreciated the laminated guide to shore-diving sites! If there's anything you want that you can't find at the house, Henry owns the place next door and his property manager, Sasha, can probably bring what you need from the other property. Note that the Wifi signal was very good, but the cellular signal can be spotty (I heard from residents and other visitors that spotty cellular service might be an issue wherever you stay.) The location is perfect, a quiet neighborhood, right on the beach, yet just minutes from shops and shore-diving sites. I had been concerned about possible noise from the nearby airport, but the flights are so infrequent that we hardly noticed. Hedges screen the neighboring houses from view, and there's plenty of space between the houses. Cayman Brac is still an island where nobody locks their doors and you can just leave the keys in the car. We were very happy with this rental and hope to stay here again on future visits to the island.

From the beginning, being met at the airport by Sasha with our rental car ready and guided to the property, everything was perfect. Walking in the front door and being able to see straight out the back into the sapphire blue sea was unforgettable. This property was absolutely everything that was represented in the description plus so much more. The day we arrived we went snorkeling in our back yard and were fortunate to see a nurse shark and turtle along with a myriad of other beatuful sea life. The other 7 days we dove 3 tanks a day both from boat and shore. Coming home everyday to this beautiful abode enhanced the experience of Cayman Brac. The Location of Sunset Cottage was perfect - close to Brac Scuba Shack, the store and the airport and shore diving sites. We loved Cayman Brac and Sunset Cottage and plan to make a return trip.
