Riverside Cooperage Mill and Retreat

Elkader, Iowa is a small town with a big heart set in the Turkey River Valley. Beautiful hills and scenic byways surround the area. If you like history, Clayton County has it. There are nine sites on the National Register of Historic Places located in Clayton County. The front of our building is set with two-feet thick stone walls and beautiful landscaping. The Turkey River is always flowing outside your window when you stay with us at Riverside Cooperage Mill and Retreat.  The Keystone Bridge, the longest stone arch bridge west of the Mississippi River, can be seen from each of the suites. Nothing can compare to the beauty in this rural area when the sun begins to set. Riverside Retreat offers three guest suites; the Sun Room, the Draft Room, and the Doctor's Suite.
