Casa Oso in Ahwahnee is delightful gathering place for family and friends located in the Sierra Nevada hills. This private modern farmhouse provides breathtaking views and a lot of outdoor area to enjoy, including a private spa and playground for kids. Thanks to an old California Oak tree and massive boulders laid next to the house, everything charms with nature’s ambience. The 5 acres getaway gives easy access to the city of Oakhurst and Bass Lake. Yosemite National Park is 45 min away.
The space
A freshly renovated one-story house creates its ambiance with family-friendly common areas, game room, spa and BBQ.
The spacious kitchen, with its big island table, is a perfect place for cooking, sharing cocktails and spending family dinner time. An additional indoor children’s table can be used for dining or for crafts. The kitchen comes complete with great choices of cookware and dinnerware, coffee machine, grinder, toaster, mixed, blender and kettle.
The attractiveness of the open space living area comes from its high ceilings, diverse seating arrangements, mountain views from both sides, and a charming wood stove. The living room is also conducive to movie nights and board games, and fast Internet abounds.
The three bedrooms are furnished with attention to detail, and all decorations and accessories are designed not only to look good but to provide maximum comfort to all guests. We want this to feel like your home away from home.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a desk and a chair, and includes its own bathroom with shower and an additional sleeping chair which can be prepared as an additional single sleeping bed upon request, and has direct private access to the patio and spa area.
The family bedroom holds a queen-size bed with an additional daybed, which is normally used as a sofa, but can be converted to a double twin to accommodate families with children.
The other bedroom has another king-size bed, spacious closet, and a glorious mountain view from the window. Guests staying this bedroom and the family bedroom share a common bathroom with tub.
Guest access
Three parking spots are available next to the house. EV charger is available to guests after downloading an app. The charging is $ free.
Area in general needs car for commute. Close-by country roads with low traffic load can be used for jogging, biking, or horse riding.
Other things to note
Yosemite National Park South Gate Entrance in Fish Camp is 45 min drive from Casa Oso Ahwahnee. Yosemite Entrance located in El Portal where Yosemite Valley is located takes 1 h drive. Travel times get longer during weekend rush hours and holidays.
The property is not fenced and is located in a secluded place. All of the soundings of Yosemite National Park including urban areas have the component of wildlife. Some of the local animals that can be observed on a daily basis include deer, turkeys, squirrels, hawks, and rabbits. Not as common animals to see but living in the area are coyotes, bears, mountain lions, raccoons, opossum, skunk, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and scorpions. Poison oak and poison ivy are also elements of local flora.
All of California including the Sierra Nevada area is seasonally experiencing wildfires which are natural occurrences in the area. Some of the species like sequoias need fire to reproduce. Wildfires are likely to happen between June and November.

No cancelations due to smoke or air quality under 200 (AirNow.gov). 6. $500 cleaning fee for glass found in the spa. 7. $500 fine for staying at the property with more people than shown in the reservation. 8. $500 fine for noise complaint submitted to the police during quiet hours. 9. $500 fine for copyright infringement complaint (DMCA) using house network. 10. $500 fine for smoking detected inside property.
