Welcome to the log cabin of your childhood dreams! This authentic log house is composed of pieces of history. It was built in 2009 using original elements from the renovation of the historic Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. Each room contains historic elements of decorations from that iconic masterpiece of architecture, and the breathtaking views will make you feel enveloped in Yosemite’s arms. The park itself is only 50 minutes from both Yosemite National Park entrances.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive and unlimited access to both the house and all of its 5 acres of land. The land is not fully fenced, making it feel that it is part of the heavenly mountain landscape.
Other things to note
This getaway will be a welcome respite from what we have used to in our modern world. Sit with a cup of hot tea while looking out at the glorious mountain views and tell us how it made you feel, for we’d love to know. We suspect solace and relaxation will be high on the list.
Yosemite National Park South Gate Entrance in Fish Camp is 50 m drive from the log house. Yosemite Entrance located in El Portal where Yosemite Valley is located takes 1 h drive. Travel times get longer during weekend rush hours and holidays.
The property is not fully fenced. All of the soundings of Yosemite National Park including urban areas have the component of wildlife. Some of the local animals that can be observed on a daily basis include deer, turkeys, squirrels, hawks, and rabbits. Not as common animals to see but living in the area are coyotes, bears, mountain lions, raccoons, opossum, skunk, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and scorpions. Poison oak and poison ivy are also elements of local flora.
All of California including the Sierra Nevada area is seasonally experiencing wildfires which are natural occurrences in the area. Some of the species like sequoias need fire to reproduce. Wildfires are likely to happen between June and November.
