I'm happy to offer your family and friends a welcoming antique Arts and Crafts Style Beach Bungalow in the nostalgic "Manomet Bluffs" area of Plymouth, MA. Located just 10 minutes from America's Hometown, the Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower, Plimoth Rock and more. Our house is a comfortable 5 bedroom year round cottage and includes a heated enclosed sleeping porch and 3 bathrooms. We can sleep up to 15 people but, a weekly stay is still affordable for a family of 6 with our base rate starting at $3800 for the 2018 peak season.
It really is a charming Year-Round get-away with something to offer every guest. Whether you're needing personal respite or wanting to bring people together, you're welcome all four season's of the year. The house was designed as a Summer Hide-a-Way with throw back's to the roaring 1920's. It's a shingle style cottage that was intended to be a showcase, and during simpler times, it really was. Back then, 'summer vacation' meant something different than it does now. Families from all over would pack up their city belongings and head on down to 'the beach'. Year after year the same place was their little piece of heaven, carved out by surf and sea. Here, we're nestled into a little corner of Cape Cod Bay on Manomet Beach and during early morning sunrises, the ocean can look like a blue-green sheet of glass straight across to Wellfleet's Great Island Peninsula.
Now, almost 100 year old it continues to call families back to create their own memories. Escaping to sea-filled air, does not grow old! We enjoy being with our friends and families even more it seams, gathering in the sand and affront shores, still works today as it has for years. Back when Summer vacations started Memorial Day Weekend and went straight through to Labor Day, summer gardens would go in all over the neighborhood. ....and they still do! Cook-outs, clam bakes, lobster bakes, campfires, fishing poles, sharing good books, singing, laughing, playing music, was the norm. Still is among the adult children who've grown up here and now raise their grandchildren in the very same cottages their grandparents owned.
...What have we added over the years...summer concerts, kayaks, dining on the warf, ferry ride's to the islands, mooring our boats off-shore....!
Anyone who's grown up on the ocean knows you don't 'really' need an air conditioner all but a few nights out of the year. The fan's work great and you've escaped the inland heat. We grew up thrilled to have the cooler temps by the sea....yes, 10-20 degrees cooler by the shore during some of the hottest days of the year! ....and, the reverse is true, we're warmer longer into the Fall & Winter season's as well.
Ultimately, we all find life a little bit sweeter and settle more easily into great inner peace at a seaside hide-away. Even in the middle of Winter! Nature nourishes our souls, where ever she is. Can't beat that. So, we treasure it.
As the migratory birds, fly south anticipating the change of season families around here pack it up and put it to bed too. It used to be after the big Labor Day Weekend party, now, it goes into October/November before everyone says their good-bye's and put's the cottage to bed. Traveler's still spend the last day of their week finishing off the last of the food & everyone pitching in to clean up. We still ask that you sweep through the cottage, wash & fold the laundry, pack and tidying up before... heading home.
So, year after year, generation after generation, it continues! Although the time spent together is shorter, this home still tells 'that' wonderful story of summer's shared between gathering families, surf, sand, seals and shells and is reminiscent of meaningful and treasured times for everyone who comes to visit. I'm happy to share it. Welcoming new families & old friends every year who can carve out 'their time' and create 'their space' to come and enjoy it. All are welcome!
We're just 5 houses back from stair access (3 flights of stairs w/bench seating between flights approx 130 stairs) to Manomet Beach. Known to generations of families who've vacationed here over the years, we now welcome yours. Manomet Beach is a private residential beach where you'll cherish long strolls, kayaking, sun & moon rises over Cape Cod Bay, seals, beach combing, finally finish that book and find some much deserved R&R in a quiet corner by yourself and/or with family & friends beside you.
Just 10 minutes south of downtown Plymouth, local area attractions include America's Hometown Historic Plymouth sights including: Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower II & Plymouth Rock. There's Deep Sea Fishing, Whale Watching, Harbor & Dinner Cruises, Ferry's Golfing, Antiques, Shops, Restaurants, Biking, Hiking & More.
We're located 50 min. South of Boston and 15 min. North of the Cape Cod Canal. We're also walking distance to Manomet Center.
Ferry rides to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket & P-Town make great day trips!
Your contributing to the stewardship and legacy of a nearly 100 year old character-filled New England shingle styled cottage. Insuring it's preservation so that many will continue to be able to enjoy it, for generations to come. Additionally, we're looking forward to one day enclosing the stable house to create a studio space in which we can offer yoga classes, weekly meditations, & integrative whole health and life healing workshops. We continue to expand our organic garden and last year extended our growing season with the construction of a green house. We now have 5 sweet hens and offer fresh eggs to folks to enjoy. Guests wanting a little help deepening their R&R, local massage and Reiki practitioners are available but must be scheduled in advance off site. More information is available upon request.

All funds are 100% refunded 'as long as property is re-booked', otherwise used towards a future stay.
