Roof deck with expansive view..smallest cottage..suitable for shorter visits..this cottage is the most insect free..about 4-5 minute walk to the carpark up a steep hill..light luggage or backpack advised..we appreciate if guests give us an approximate time of arrival and prefer if guests arrive before dark if possible(6pm)..if not possible please let us know..please smoke outside thanks...hot water only if heated on stove..
The space
smal hilside cottage overlooking port antonio and the carribean sea ..walking distance to transportation,markets,beaches and other attractions..the cottage is 150 steps thru the jungle up a hill from the car park...comfortable walking shoes with good gripping soles are advisable.....this cottage is ideally suited for one person or a couple..some visitors take a night or two to get used to the sounds of early morning roosters and dogs,the occasional sound system..usually muted..during the day raucous parrots and woodpeckers are the main noisemakers..water is not hot unless u heat it on the stove..linens and towels supplied..internet access on roof deck..air is conditioned by fans and sea breezes..long pants and socks are advised in the early evenings..if u are allergic to insect bites,u might want to consider other options...finally,a tip on luggage..suitcases are unwieldy and impractical due to the steep terrain from carpark to cottage..backpacks are advised....because of its small size,it is ideal for a single traveler..best to arrive before dark..wifi on roof deck

Amazing cabins up in the hills overlooking Port Antonio! Michael was such a great host. Quick communication and great local tips. Be prepared to climb those stairs. But the climb is totally worth it!

Michael’s place was amazing and unique! Those stairs are totally worth it as everyone says. We arrived super late due to our bus breaking down and Mike kindly offered us Spaghetti and two beers upon arrival. It was much needed after our long day! I think the place was close enough to the city but also very safely hidden in the hills. Portland in general was our favorite Parish to stay in. Transportation was so easy and the beaches were absolutely gorgeous. We loved it! Don’t forget to have a drink or two at the Purple Haze bar, which is the closest to the rooms!
