When it comes to luxury on a grand scale, Journey’s End sets a high bar. For starters, this custom property is actually 2 homes: a grand main lodge and a nearly as pampering guesthouse just 30 yards away. This setup makes Journey’s Edge ideal for several families vacationing together. Then there are the spectacular views. Because Journey’s End is located on the highest point of the Cedar Falls Resort, it looks out onto stunning unobstructed vistas of the Smoky Mountains—and offers plenty of vantage points from which to enjoy them. In addition to the lodge’s huge covered porch, framed with stone arches, there are multiple decks and balconies. The main patio features chaises, a dining table, and a hot tub in full view of the mountains and the woodlands. A 2nd alfresco dining area nestles beneath a pergola so that you can enjoy your meal in the cool shade. On yet another patio, there’s room for everybody to congregate at night around the gas fire pit. The glow of the flames is an idyllic accompaniment to the chirping of crickets and the hooting of the owls. You can relish the views from the private outdoor pool as well—yes, Journey’s End has its own pool, available throughout the summer. And if that’s still not lavish enough for you, there’s a private putting green too. Just don’t let the spectacular scenery distract you! The splendor continues indoors. The oversize windows of the main house enable you to relish nature’s grandeur even while you relax among the living room’s supple leather sofas or eat a meal at the dining room’s table, which seats 10. Each of these rooms has its own fireplace to add to the warm, welcoming ambiance. If you view vacations as a chance to practice your culinary skills, you’d love the main house’s lavish kitchen. Gleaming appliances, top-grade gadgets, and sparkling countertops in a spacious open setting making cooking a pleasure. The island doubles as a breakfast bar, with handsome twig-style stools to seat up to 4 people. What’s more, there’s a large gas grill outside, so that you can cook as well as dine outdoors or in. After dinner—or any other time, really—you can kick back and watch a movie in the home theater with surround sound. The 8 cinema-style seats are so comfortable, you might want to lounge in them with a book after the film. Journey’s End has a game room too: Choose between shooting pool at the full-size billiard table, playing air hockey, or hosting a poker marathon at the large game table. Prefer something even more relaxing? Step inside the home’s private sauna. We told you Journey’s End was luxurious! Of Journey’s End’s 5 bedrooms, 3 are in the main lodge. Each of these includes a lofty king-size bed, a flat-screen TV, exquisite furnishings, and views you’ll love waking up to. One of these bedrooms has its own fireplace too, plus direct access to a balcony. Of the 2 bedrooms in the guesthouse, one includes a king-size bed, while the other features a queen. In addition, one of the myriad sofas opens into a queen-size bed, so that Journey’s End can sleep 12 people in all. The guesthouse has its own great room, with ample cushioned seating, a flat-screen TV, and a dining table for 4. It also has a separate den with another TV, plus a fully equipped kitchen and a breakfast bar that seats 2. Once you arrive at Journey’s End, you won’t want to leave. But as a bonus, it’s within a half-hour drive of restaurants, shops, and the area’s most popular attractions, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Dollywood. |

Was my first time staying in Tennessee and I couldn't have picked a better cabin. I was up each morning before the sunrise just to see it come up. Breathtaking, IMO. I can't say enough good things about this cabin. Loved it all! Had my family down for a 60th birthday celebration, and they all were so pleased with the stay. We loved it so much that we're going back next year! When you've had enough of the fresh air, or a rainy afternoon, there's the awesome home theater room. Fantastic! You won't be disappointed in the views from the balcony either. Coyotes, bobcat and bear too! Minor issues taken care of and followed up on by the rental staff very quickly. Service was excellent. Bottom line, worth the trip!!! We understand why it was, but maybe allow the fireplaces to be used year round. We wish we could have been able to have the living room fireplace on a few times. One waterfall wasn't working, but certainly didn't hurt our experience. The pool had some minor issues, but again, service was quick and resolved. We can't wait to go back!

We ran into a couple little hitches on our arrival, but nothing that impacted the overall stay. The renters before us checked out late and left the place a mess, but the cleaning crew were working feverishly to get us in there. The actual check-in was a couple hours late but it was well worth the wait and we were allowed to check-out a couple hours late to make up for it since there were no renters coming in on the day we left. I think it was an unavoidable incident, but the 2 hour delay in check-in was a little much for my mother. She is 83 and she was definitely needing a place to lay down and rest after her long trip to Gatlinburg. Other than literally, physically throwing out the previous renters, I don't know what else you could've done on your end, though. There was a delay in a response for a couple days about getting our check-out time pushed back, but other than that, all was well. We had a rental inspector come to make sure everything was in working order. The inspector found a problem with the hot tub even before we did, and made sure someone came out right away and fixed it. They noted some damage from the previous renters for which we would not be held accountable. The rest of our stay was incredible. The views were unmatched and we plenty of time in the living room just looking out of that enormous window. The covered front porch with the fire pit and chairs were where we spent most of our evenings, playing games on the lawn and catching up with each other (it was a family reunion of sorts with most of us living far away from each other). The game room provided many hours of fun for all of us. And the convenience of having it so close to gas stations and grocery stores was great. The younger adults explored the surrounding attractions quite a bit, but some of the older generation were perfectly happy to stay at the cabin the entire time. It was quite a memorable vacation for all of us. We will DEFINITELY be back!
