LOCATION:
El Paraiso de Cristian, built in 2014, is a small bed and breakfast located in Uvita, Costa Rica. We are perched just above downtown Uvita and it's shops, grocery stores, banks, weekly Farmer's Market, rental car outlets, restaurants, hardware store, and bus station. There is no need for 4WD to reach our property.
We are a 5-minute walk to the bamboo forest located behind us, and a ten-minute walk to Cascada Verde, a waterfall you can ride down! This is the closest of the seven waterfalls found in the surrounding mountains of Uvita.
The Paraiso is a short 5-minute drive down to the closest of many stunning South Pacific beaches in the region. Here you will enter Ballena National Marine Park, featuring the "Whale's Tail" formation and the largest coral reef in Costa Rica. As the only place on earth that enjoys 2 different migration periods yearly, a parade of false Killer, Bryde's, pilot and humpback whales make Ballena National Park a hub for whale watching, snorkeling, horseback riding on the beach and SUP/kayaking as well as surf schooling... (head to nearby Dominical if you truly know how to ride the waves!)
Other nearby attractions include:
The Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the best in Costa Rica.
Rancho La Merced (506 amazing acres...horseback on the beach, hiking, birdwatching and the "cowboy" experience.)
Cano Island (tour): for scuba, snorkel, whale and dolphin watching
A day trip to Corcovado National Park, (stunning...one of the most biologically diverse spots in the world)
Manuel Antonio: The crown jewel. Hike, beach it, monkeys, sloths, birds, monkeys and more monkeys!
The Sierpe Mangrove, (the largest in Central America... kayak tours here are recommended.)
Nauyaca Waterfalls is also not far away. visit by horseback, or hike in!
We look forward to making your stay a memorable one!
Safe Travels!

Obviously the bad reviews belong to the old owner. I came here with my parents and my friend and stayed for 3 nights. The little houses are located at the end of a road that leads into the jungle. It is quiet and you can walk into the city (5 min). The breakfast was good and always fresh prepared by the maid. You have to indicate the time one day before, but that’s nearly all over Costa Rica the case. It is clean and well maintained, the gardener was there while we were there. There were no mosquitos and the house has mosquito nets everywhere. The house has even a sound system. All in all, it couldn’t have been better!

We loved the owners! They took over the property in May and are the nicest couple you've ever met. The location is clean, quiet and central to town, hikes, and the beach. We will absolutely come again.

The best accommodation in 2 weeks in Costa Rica! We felt like a family and the new owner did the best to make our stay perfect. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the porch to chill out in the evening. It is located between the waterfalls and the Marino Ballena Park, Uvita is beautiful!
